أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ هَانِئٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عِرْبَاضَ بْنَ سَارِيَةَ يَقُولُبِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَكْرًا فَأَتَيْتُهُ أَتَقَاضَاهُ فَقَالَ أَجَلْ لَا أَقْضِيكَهَا إِلَّا نَجِيبَةً فَقَضَانِي فَأَحْسَنَ قَضَائِي وَجَاءَهُ أَعْرَابِيٌّ يَتَقَاضَاهُ سِنَّهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطُوهُ سِنًّا فَأَعْطَوْهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ جَمَلًا فَقَالَ هَذَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ سِنِّي فَقَالَ خَيْرُكُمْ خَيْرُكُمْ قَضَاءً

Narrated to us [Ishaq bin Ibrahim], he said : Narrated to us [Abdur Rahman bin Mahdi], he said : has told us [Mu'awiyah bin Salih] he said : I heard [Sa'id bin Hani'] say; I heard ['Irbadh bin Sariyah] say; I sold the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him a young camel. Then I went to him demanding the calf, he said: "Okay, I will not pay you except with a valuable camel," then he paid me the best payment, then a Bedouin came to him demanding an old camel from him, then the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said: "give him the camel," then on that day they gave him the camel, then he said : this is better than my camel, then he said: "the best of you are the ones who pay the best."
