Imam Abu Dawud : 2802حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ أَبَا عَلِيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَكُنَّا مَعَ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ بِرُودِسَ مِنْ أَرْضِ الرُّومِ فَتُوُفِّيَ صَاحِبٌ لَنَا فَأَمَرَ فَضَالَةُ بِقَبْرِهِ فَسُوِّيَ ثُمَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُ بِتَسْوِيَتِهَاقَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد رُودِسُ جَزِيرَةٌ فِي الْبَحْرِ
Narrated to us [Ahmad bin Amru bin As-Sarh], narrated to us [Ibn Wahb], narrated to me [Amr Al-Harith], that [Abu Ali Al-Hamdani] narrated to him, he said: We were with [Fudhalah bin Ubaid] in Rhodes, a land of the Romans, when a companion of ours passed away. Fudhalah ordered his grave to be leveled and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) command to level graves. Abu Dawud said: Rhodes is an island in the sea.
