Nabi mengoreksi pemahaman sempit tentang syahid, dan menyebut mati di jalan Allah, sakit perut, tenggelam, dan nifas semuanya syahid
Imam Ibnu Majah : 2794حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَا تَقُولُونَ فِي الشَّهِيدِ فِيكُمْ قَالُوا الْقَتْلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنَّ شُهَدَاءَ أُمَّتِي إِذًا لَقَلِيلٌ مَنْ قُتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ وَمَنْ مَاتَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ وَالْمَبْطُونُ شَهِيدٌ وَالْمَطْعُونُ شَهِيدٌقَالَ سُهَيْلٌ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مِقْسَمٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَالْغَرِقُ شَهِيدٌ
Narrated by [Muhammad bin Abdul Malik bin Abu Syawarib], narrated by [Abdul Aziz bin Mukhtar], narrated by [Suhail] from his father, from [Abu Hurairah], from the Prophet, peace be upon him, who said: 'What do you say about a martyr among you?' They said: 'One killed in Allah’s path.' He said: 'Then my ummah’s martyrs would be few. Whoever is killed in Allah’s path is a martyr, whoever dies in Allah’s path is a martyr, whoever dies of stomach illness is a martyr, whoever dies of plague is a martyr.' Suhail said: [Ubaidillah bin Miqsam] informed me from [Abu Shalih], adding: 'One who drowns is a martyr.'
