Nabi tetap menyampaikan dakwah dan bersabar atas penolakan kasar Abdullah bin Ubay di majelis yang berisi muslim, musyrik, dan Yahudi
Imam Muslim : 3356حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ رَافِعٍ قَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا و قَالَ الْآخَرَانِ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ أَنَّ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكِبَ حِمَارًا عَلَيْهِ إِكَافٌ تَحْتَهُ قَطِيفَةٌ فَدَكِيَّةٌ وَأَرْدَفَ وَرَاءَهُ أُسَامَةَ وَهُوَ يَعُودُ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ فِي بَنِي الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ وَذَاكَ قَبْلَ وَقْعَةِ بَدْرٍ حَتَّى مَرَّ بِمَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ أَخْلَاطٌ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ عَبَدَةِ الْأَوْثَانِ وَالْيَهُودِ فِيهِمْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ وَفِي الْمَجْلِسِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ فَلَمَّا غَشِيَتْ الْمَجْلِسَ عَجَاجَةُ الدَّابَّةِ خَمَّرَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ أَنْفَهُ بِرِدَائِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَا تُغَبِّرُوا عَلَيْنَا فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ وَقَفَ فَنَزَلَ فَدَعَاهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِمْ الْقُرْآنَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ أَيُّهَا الْمَرْءُ لَا أَحْسَنَ مِنْ هَذَا إِنْ كَانَ مَا تَقُولُ حَقًّا فَلَا تُؤْذِنَا فِي مَجَالِسِنَا وَارْجِعْ إِلَى رَحْلِكَ فَمَنْ جَاءَكَ مِنَّا فَاقْصُصْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ اغْشَنَا فِي مَجَالِسِنَا فَإِنَّا نُحِبُّ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَاسْتَبَّ الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ وَالْيَهُودُ حَتَّى هَمُّوا أَنْ يَتَوَاثَبُوا فَلَمْ يَزَلْ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُخَفِّضُهُمْ ثُمَّ رَكِبَ دَابَّتَهُ حَتَّى دَخَلَ عَلَى سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ فَقَالَ أَيْ سَعْدُ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ إِلَى مَا قَالَ أَبُو حُبَابٍ يُرِيدُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أُبَيٍّ قَالَ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ اعْفُ عَنْهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَاصْفَحْ فَوَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَعْطَاكَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَعْطَاكَ وَلَقَدْ اصْطَلَحَ أَهْلُ هَذِهِ الْبُحَيْرَةِ أَنْ يُتَوِّجُوهُ فَيُعَصِّبُوهُ بِالْعِصَابَةِ فَلَمَّا رَدَّ اللَّهُ ذَلِكَ بِالْحَقِّ الَّذِي أَعْطَاكَهُ شَرِقَ بِذَلِكَ فَذَلِكَ فَعَلَ بِهِ مَا رَأَيْتَ فَعَفَا عَنْهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا حُجَيْنٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ بِمِثْلِهِ وَزَادَ وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ
Narrated to us [Ishaq bin Ibrahim Al Hanzhali], [Muhammad bin Rafi'], and [Abd bin Humaid], with the wording from Ibnu Rafi', [Ibnu Rafi'] said, narrated to us, while the other two said, narrated to us [Abdurrazaq], narrated to us [Ma'mar] from [Az Zuhri] from ['Urwah], that [Usamah bin Zaid] narrated to him, that the Prophet, peace be upon him, rode a donkey with a worn-out saddle blanket from Fadakiyah. Usamah rode behind him. He was going to visit Sa'd bin Ubadah in the settlement of Banu Harits bin Khazraj before the Battle of Badr. (On the way) he passed by a gathering consisting of Muslims, idol-worshipping polytheists, and Jews, among whom were Abdullah bin Ubay and Abdullah bin Rawahah. When Abdullah bin Ubay saw the dust from our steps, he covered his nose with his veil and said, "Do not scatter dust on us." The Prophet, peace be upon him, greeted them, then stopped and dismounted. He invited them to Allah by reciting verses of the Qur’an to them, but Abdullah bin Ubay said, "Hey, is there nothing better than this? If what you say is true, do not disturb us in our gathering. Go back to your house and recite to those who come to you." Then Abdullah bin Rawahah spoke up, "Come to our gathering, for we love it." Usamah said, "A verbal dispute broke out between the Muslims, polytheists, and Jews, almost leading to a fight. But the Prophet, peace be upon him, calmed them down, then mounted his ride and went to Sa’d bin Ubadah’s house. Then he said, 'O Sa’d, do you know what Abu Hubab just said?'—meaning Abdullah bin Ubay—'he said such and such.' Sa’d then said, 'Forgive him, O Messenger of Allah. By Allah, indeed Allah has given you what He has given. Before your arrival, the people of this land had agreed to crown him and wrap a turban around him. But Allah thwarted it with the truth He gave you. That is why he is envious of you. That is the reason he has caused such trouble as you have witnessed.' So the Prophet, peace be upon him, forgave him." Narrated to me [Muhammad bin Rafi'], narrated to us [Hujjain]—that is, Ibnu Al Mutsanna—narrated to us [Laits] from ['Uqail] from [Ibnu Syihab] with this chain, with a slight addition, "This happened before Abdullah embraced Islam."
