Tidak menyesal menegakkan hukuman, kecuali pada peminum khamar
Imam Muslim : 3221حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ الضَّرِيرُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ مَا كُنْتُ أُقِيمُ عَلَى أَحَدٍ حَدًّا فَيَمُوتَ فِيهِ فَأَجِدَ مِنْهُ فِي نَفْسِي إِلَّا صَاحِبَ الْخَمْرِ لِأَنَّهُ إِنْ مَاتَ وَدَيْتُهُ لِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَسُنَّهُ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ
Narrated to me [Muhammad bin Minhal Ad Dlarir], narrated to us [Yazid bin Zurai'], narrated to us [Sufyan Ats Tsauri] from [Abu Hashin] from ['Umair bin Sa'id] from ['Ali], he said, "I do not like enforcing punishment on someone who drinks alcohol until he dies, because if he dies, the state would have to pay his blood money, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, never set such an example." Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Al Mutsanna], narrated to us [Abdurrahman], narrated to us [Sufyan] with this chain like this.
