Umar menangis melihat bekas tikar di lambung Nabi, dan sabda beliau: tidak ridhakah engkau bila mereka mendapat dunia dan kita mendapat akhirat
Imam Ibnu Majah : 4143حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ الْحَنَفِيُّ أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى حَصِيرٍ قَالَ فَجَلَسْتُ فَإِذَا عَلَيْهِ إِزَارٌ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ غَيْرُهُ وَإِذَا الْحَصِيرُ قَدْ أَثَّرَ فِي جَنْبهِ وَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَبْضَةٍ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ نَحْوِ الصَّاعِ وَقَرَظٍ فِي نَاحِيَةٍ فِي الْغُرْفَةِ وَإِذَا إِهَابٌ مُعَلَّقٌ فَابْتَدَرَتْ عَيْنَايَ فَقَالَ مَا يُبْكِيكَ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ وَمَالِي لَا أَبْكِي وَهَذَا الْحَصِيرُ قَدْ أَثَّرَ فِي جَنْبِكَ وَهَذِهِ خِزَانَتُكَ لَا أَرَى فِيهَا إِلَّا مَا أَرَى وَذَلِكَ كِسْرَى وَقَيْصَرُ فِي الثِّمَارِ وَالْأَنْهَارِ وَأَنْتَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ وَصَفْوَتُهُ وَهَذِهِ خِزَانَتُكَ قَالَ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَلَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ لَنَا الْآخِرَةُ وَلَهُمْ الدُّنْيَا قُلْتُ بَلَى
Narrated by [Muhammad bin Basysyar], narrated by [Umar bin Yunus], narrated by ['Ikrimah bin 'Ammar], narrated by [Simak Al Hanafi Abu Zumail], narrated by [Abdullah bin Al 'Abbas], narrated by [Umar bin Khattab], he said: 'I visited Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam while he was on a mat. I sat, and he wore only a waistcloth, nothing else, and the mat had left marks on his side. I saw a handful of barley, about a sha’, and tanning leaves in a corner of the room, and a hanging leather skin. My eyes welled up with tears. He asked: What makes you cry O Ibnul Khattab?" I said: "O Prophet of Allah how can I not cry? This mat has marked your side and I see nothing in your room but this. Yet Kisra and Caesar have fruits and rivers while you are Allah’s Prophet and His chosen one yet this is your room!" He said: "O Ibnul Khattab are you not pleased that we have the Hereafter and they have the world?" I replied: "Indeed."'
