Imam Tirmidzi : 2184حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ وَحَمَّادٍ وَعَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ سَمِعُوا أَبَا وَائِلٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ أَيُّكُمْ يَحْفَظُ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ أَنَا قَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ فِتْنَةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي أَهْلِهِ وَمَالِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ وَجَارِهِ يُكَفِّرُهَا الصَّلَاةُ وَالصَّوْمُ وَالصَّدَقَةُ وَالْأَمْرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْيُ عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لَسْتُ عَنْ هَذَا أَسْأَلُكَ وَلَكِنْ عَنْ الْفِتْنَةِ الَّتِي تَمُوجُ كَمَوْجِ الْبَحْرِ قَالَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهَا بَابًا مُغْلَقًا قَالَ عُمَرُ أَيُفْتَحُ أَمْ يُكْسَرُ قَالَ بَلْ يُكْسَرُ قَالَ إِذًا لَا يُغْلَقُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ أَبُو وَائِلٍ فِي حَدِيثِ حَمَّادٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَسْرُوقٍ سَلْ حُذَيْفَةَ عَنْ الْبَابِ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ
Narrated to us [Mahmud bin Ghailan] has told us [Abu Dawud] has reported to us [Syu'bah] from [Al A'masy] and [Hammad] and ['Ashim bin Bahdalah], they heard [Abu Wa'il] from [Hudzaifah] say: Umar said: Who among you has memorized the words of the Messenger of Allah sallAllahu 'alahi wa Salam regarding slander? Hudzaifah said: I am. Hudzaifah said: The slander of someone in their family, property, children and neighbors, can be erased by prayer, fasting, almsgiving, amar ma'ruf and nahyi munkar. Umar said: That's not what I'm asking, but about the slander that waves like the waves of the ocean. Huzaifah said: O Amirul Mu'minin, indeed between you and the fitnah there is a closed door. Umar asked: Was it opened or broken into? Hudzaifah answered: It was broken into. Umar said: It means it will not be closed until the Day of Resurrection. Abu Wa`il said in the hadith of Hammad: I said to Masruq: Ask Hudzaifah what door is meant. Masruq asked then Hudzaifah answered: Umar. Abu Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih .
