حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَصِينٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ وَثَّابٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍأَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ وِتْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ مِنْ كُلِّ اللَّيْلِ قَدْ أَوْتَرَ أَوَّلَهُ وَأَوْسَطَهُ وَآخِرَهُ فَانْتَهَى وِتْرُهُ حِينَ مَاتَ إِلَى السَّحَرِقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى أَبُو حَصِينٍ اسْمُهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَجَابِرٍ وَأَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ وَأَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَهُوَ الَّذِي اخْتَارَهُ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ الْوِتْرُ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

Narrated to us [Ahmad bin Mani'], narrated to us [Abu Bakar bin 'Ayasy], narrated to us [Abu Hashin] from [Yahya bin Watsab] from [Masruq] that he asked ['Aisyah] about the witir prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, so she answered, sometimes he performed witir at the beginning of the night, in the middle of the night and sometimes at the end of the night, and near his death he performed witir until near Fajr, Abu Isa said, Abu Hashin his name is 'Utsman bin 'Ashim Al Asadi, (the narrator) said, in this chapter (there is also narration -trans) from Ali, Jabir, Abu Mas'ud Al Anshari, and Abu Qatadah. Abu Isa said, the hadith of 'Aisyah is a hasan sahih hadith, and it is the narration chosen by some scholars namely performing witir at the end of the night.
