Narrated to us [Yazid bin Harun] said, Narrated to us [Al Awwam bin Hausyab] from [Sulaiman bin Abu Sulaiman] from [Anas bin Malik] from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "When Allah created the earth, it began to shake, so Allah created the mountains and placed them upon it until it became firm, whereupon the angels were amazed at the creation of the mountains and said: 'O Lord, is there any of Your creation that is stronger than the mountains?' Allah replied: 'Yes, iron.' They then said: 'O Lord, is there any of Your creation that is stronger than iron?' Allah replied: 'Yes, fire.' They then said: 'O Lord, is there any of Your creation that is stronger than fire?' Allah replied: 'Yes, water.' They then said: 'O Lord, is there any of Your creation that is stronger than water?' Allah replied: 'Yes, the wind.' They then said: 'O Lord, is there any of Your creation that is stronger than the wind?' Allah replied: 'Yes, the son of Adam, when he gives charity with his right hand such that his left hand does not know it.'
