Ilmu akan hilang apabila tidak diamalkan seperti pada Taurat dan Injil, meskipun membaca Al-Qur’an
Imam Ibnu Majah : 4038حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ قَالَذَكَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا فَقَالَ ذَاكَ عِنْدَ أَوَانِ ذَهَابِ الْعِلْمِ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَكَيْفَ يَذْهَبُ الْعِلْمُ وَنَحْنُ نَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَنُقْرِئُهُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَيُقْرِئُهُ أَبْنَاؤُنَا أَبْنَاءَهُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ ثَكِلَتْكَ أُمُّكَ زِيَادُ إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَرَاكَ مِنْ أَفْقَهِ رَجُلٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَوَلَيْسَ هَذِهِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى يَقْرَءُونَ التَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنْجِيلَ لَا يَعْمَلُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِمَّا فِيهِمَا
Narrated by [Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah], narrated by [Waki’], narrated by [Al A’mash] from [Salim bin Abu Al Ja’d] from [Ziyad bin Labid], he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned something and said: 'That is when knowledge vanishes.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, how can knowledge vanish when we recite the Qur’an, teach it to our children, and they teach their children until the Day of Judgment?' He said: 'May your mother lose you, Ziyad! I thought you were the most knowledgeable man in Medina. Do not the Jews and Christians recite the Torah and Gospel, yet act on nothing in them?'
