Imam Tirmidzi : 3368حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَشَهِدْتُ عَلِيًّا أُتِيَ بِدَابَّةٍ لِيَرْكَبَهَا فَلَمَّا وَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ فِي الرِّكَابِ قَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ ثَلَاثًا فَلَمَّا اسْتَوَى عَلَى ظَهْرِهَا قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ{ سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ }ثُمَّ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ثَلَاثًا وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ثَلَاثًا سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي قَدْ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ثُمَّ ضَحِكَ قُلْتُ مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ ضَحِكْتَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَنَعَ كَمَا صَنَعْتُ ثُمَّ ضَحِكَ فَقُلْتُ مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ ضَحِكْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْجَبُ مِنْ عَبْدِهِ إِذَا قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي إِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ غَيْرُكَوَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
Narrated to us [Qutaibah] narrated to us [Abu Al Ahwash] from [Abu Ishaq] from [Ali bin Rabi'ah], he said: I witnessed [Ali] given an animal to ride, then when he placed his foot in the stirrup, he said: BISMILLAAH three times, and when he was on its back he said: Al HAMDULILLAAH, then he said: SUBHAANALLADZII SAKHKHARA LANAA HAADZAA WA MAA KUNNAA LAHUU MUQRINIIN, WA INNAA ILAA RABBINAA LAMUNQALIBUUN (Glory be to the One who subjected this to us, and we could not have subdued it, and to our Lord we will return). Then he said: Al HAMDULILLAAH three times, WALLAAHU AKBAR three times, SUBHAANAKA INNII QAD ZHALAMTU NAFSII FAGHFIR LII, FAINNAHU LAA YAGHFIRUDZ DZUNUUBA ILLAA ANTA (Glory be to You, indeed I wronged myself so forgive me. For indeed none forgives sins except You). Then he laughed. I said: why do you laugh O Commander of the faithful? He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, do as I did then he laughed and I said: why do you laugh O Messenger of Allah? He said: Indeed your Lord marvels at His servant when he says: O Allah, forgive my sins, for indeed none forgives sins except You." In this chapter there are narrations from Ibnu Umar radliallahu 'anhuma. Abu Isa said: this hadith is hasan sahih."
