Imam Ahmad : 16455حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا الْمَرْءُ الْمُسْلِمُ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ فِي صَلَاتِهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ أَخِي بَلْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ أَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ حَتَّى جَلَسَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ عِنْدَهُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمَّا السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ فَقَدْ عَرَفْنَاهُ فَكَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ إِذَا نَحْنُ صَلَّيْنَا فِي صَلَاتِنَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ قَالَ فَصَمَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى أَحْبَبْنَا أَنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ فَقَالَ إِذَا أَنْتُمْ صَلَّيْتُمْ عَلَيَّ فَقُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
Narrated to us [Ya'qub] Narrated to us [my father] from [Ibn Ishaq] said: and has narrated to me about the blessings upon The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him if there is a Muslim who says prayers during his prayer, [Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Al Harith At-Taimi] from [Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Zaid bin Abdu Rabbihi Al Ansari] brother Balharits bin Al Khajraj, from [Abu Mas'ud, Uqbah bin 'Amr Al Anshari] said: There was a man who came and sat in front of The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him, and we were ironde him. Then the person said: "O Messenger of Allah, we already know about greetings to you, so how should we say blessings to you when we pray?" (Abu Mas'ud, Uqbah bin 'Amr Al Ansari may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Then The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him remained silent until we wondered if the man had not asked." Then he said: "If you want to say salawat on me, then say: ALLAHUMMA SHALLI 'ALA MUHAMMAD AN-NABIYIL UMI WA 'ALA ALI MUHAMMAD. KAMA SHALLAITA 'ALA IBRAHIM AND THE FAMILY OF IBRAHIM. WA BARIK 'ALA MUHAMMAD WA 'ALA ALI MUHAMMAD AN-NABIYIL UMI KAMA BARAKTA 'ALA IBRAHIM WA 'ALA ALI IBRAHIM FIL 'ALAMIN INNAKA HAMIDUN MAJID (O Allah, have mercy on Muhammad, the Prophet who cannot read and write and his family. And give blessings to Muhammad, the Prophet who cannot read and write, as You have given blessings to Ibrahim and his family. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy and the Most Great),
