Imam Ahmad : 81
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبِي فَحَدَّثَنَا بِهِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ وَمَا أَعْجَبَكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ كَانَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِذَا دَعَا الْأَشْيَاخَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَعَانِي مَعَهُمْ فَقَالَ لَا تَتَكَلَّمْ حَتَّى يَتَكَلَّمُوا قَالَ فَدَعَانَا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ أَوْ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ مَا قَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ وِتْرًا فَفِي أَيِّ الْوِتْرِ تَرَوْنَهَا
Narrated to us ['Affan] Narrated to us [Abdul Wahid Bin Ziyad] he said; Narrated to us ['Ashim Bin Kulaib] he said; [my father] has said; has related to us with that hadith [Ibn Abbas] he said; "Something that will really surprise you is, that [Umar] when he invited the elders from among the companions of Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, he also invited me along with them, and said: "You must not speak until they have said it." So one day or night he invited us and said: "Indeed the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said about lailatul Qadr as you already know, so spy on him on the night of the last ten odd days and at times that you consider odd.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ سَأَلُوا عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالُوا لَهُ إِنَّمَا أَتَيْنَاكَ نَسْأَلُكَ عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ فِي بَيْتِهِ تَطَوُّعًا وَعَنْ الْغُسْلِ مِنْ الْجَنَابَةِ وَعَنْ الرَّجُلِ مَا يَصْلُحُ لَهُ مِنْ امْرَأَتِهِ إِذَا كَانَتْ حَائِضًا فَقَالَ أَسُحَّارٌ أَنْتُمْ لَقَدْ سَأَلْتُمُونِي عَنْ شَيْءٍ مَا سَأَلَنِي عَنْهُ أَحَدٌ مُنْذُ سَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ صَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي بَيْتِهِ تَطَوُّعًا نُورٌ فَمَنْ شَاءَ نَوَّرَ بَيْتَهُ وَقَالَ فِي الْغُسْلِ مِنْ الْجَنَابَةِ يَغْسِلُ فَرْجَهُ ثُمَّ يَتَوَضَّأُ ثُمَّ يُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا وَقَالَ فِي الْحَائِضِ لَهُ مَا فَوْقَ الْإِزَارِ
Narrated to us [Muhammad Bin Ja'far] Narrated to us [Syu'bah] he said; I heard ['Ashim Bin 'Amru Al Bajali] tell a story from [a man] among a group of people who asked [Umar Bin Al Khaththab]; "We came to you only to ask you about three things; about the sunnah prayers of a man at home, about bathing from the junub and about what is permissible for a man from his menstruating wife." So Umar answered; "Are you magicians, you have asked me something that no one has ever asked since I asked the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam?" Daka he said; "A man's sunnah prayer in his house is light, so whoever wishes, let his house be bright." And he explained about bathing from junub; "You should wash your genitals, then perform ablution and then pour water on your head three times" and he explained about his wife who was menstruating; "For her is what is on the cloth (besides the farji).

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ بِالْعِرَاقِ حِينَ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَأَنْكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ فَلَمَّا اجْتَمَعْنَا عِنْدَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لِي سَلْ أَبَاكَ عَمَّا أَنْكَرْتَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ مَسْحِ الْخُفَّيْنِ قَالَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ إِذَا حَدَّثَكَ سَعْدٌ بِشَيْءٍ فَلَا تَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ
Narrated to us [Qutaibah Bin Sa'id] Narrated to us [Ibn Lahi'ah] Narrated to us from [Abu An Nadlar] from [Abu Salamah] from [Ibn Umar] that he said; I saw [Sa'd Bin Abi Waqqas] wiping over his two khufs in Iraq when performing ablution, then I denied it, so when we gathered with [Umar Bin Al Khaththab] he said; "Ask your father about what you deny from me about wiping over the khuf." So I told him about it, and he replied; "If Sa'd tells you something then do not deny it because the Messenger of Allah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam wiped over his two khufs.

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَأَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ سَأَلَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ إِذَا حَدَّثَكَ سَعْدٌ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا فَلَا تَسْأَلْ عَنْهُ غَيْرَهُ
Narrated to us [Harun Bin Ma'ruf] he said; Narrated to us [Ibn Wahab] from ['Amru Bin Al Harith] from [Abu An Nadlar] from [Abu Salamah Bin Abdurrahman] from [Abdullah Bin Umar] from [Sa'd Bin Abi Waqqas] from Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, that he rubbed both khuf, and Abdullah Bin Umar asked [Umar] about it then he answered; "Yes, if Sa'd tells you something from Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, then don't ask anyone else about it.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْغَطَفَانِيِّ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْيَعْمَرِيِّ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَامَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَذَكَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رُؤْيَا لَا أُرَاهَا إِلَّا لِحُضُورِ أَجَلِي رَأَيْتُ كَأَنَّ دِيكًا نَقَرَنِي نَقْرَتَيْنِ قَالَ وَذَكَرَ لِي أَنَّهُ دِيكٌ أَحْمَرُ فَقَصَصْتُهَا عَلَى أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عُمَيْسٍ امْرَأَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا فَقَالَتْ يَقْتُلُكَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْعَجَمِ قَالَ وَإِنَّ النَّاسَ يَأْمُرُونَنِي أَنْ أَسْتَخْلِفَ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُضَيِّعَ دِينَهُ وَخِلَافَتَهُ الَّتِي بَعَثَ بِهَا نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنْ يَعْجَلْ بِي أَمْرٌ فَإِنَّ الشُّورَى فِي هَؤُلَاءِ السِّتَّةِ الَّذِينَ مَاتَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَنْهُمْ رَاضٍ فَمَنْ بَايَعْتُمْ مِنْهُمْ فَاسْمَعُوا لَهُ وَأَطِيعُوا وَإِنِّي أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ أُنَاسًا سَيَطْعَنُونَ فِي هَذَا الْأَمْرِ أَنَا قَاتَلْتُهُمْ بِيَدِي هَذِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ أُولَئِكَ أَعْدَاءُ اللَّهِ الْكُفَّارُ الضُّلَّالُ وَايْمُ اللَّهِ مَا أَتْرُكُ فِيمَا عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ رَبِّي فَاسْتَخْلَفَنِي شَيْئًا أَهَمَّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ الْكَلَالَةِ وَايْمُ اللَّهِ مَا أَغْلَظَ لِي نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي شَيْءٍ مُنْذُ صَحِبْتُهُ أَشَدَّ مَا أَغْلَظَ لِي فِي شَأْنِ الْكَلَالَةِ حَتَّى طَعَنَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ فِي صَدْرِي وَقَالَ تَكْفِيكَ آيَةُ الصَّيْفِ الَّتِي نَزَلَتْ فِي آخِرِ سُورَةِ النِّسَاءِ وَإِنِّي إِنْ أَعِشْ فَسَأَقْضِي فِيهَا بِقَضَاءٍ يَعْلَمُهُ مَنْ يَقْرَأُ وَمَنْ لَا يَقْرَأُ وَإِنِّي أُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ عَلَى أُمَرَاءِ الْأَمْصَارِ إِنِّي إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُهُمْ لِيُعَلِّمُوا النَّاسَ دِينَهُمْ وَيُبَيِّنُوا لَهُمْ سُنَّةَ نَبِيِّهِمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَيَرْفَعُوا إِلَيَّ مَا عُمِّيَ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْ شَجَرَتَيْنِ لَا أُرَاهُمَا إِلَّا خَبِيثَتَيْنِ هَذَا الثُّومُ وَالْبَصَلُ وَايْمُ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ كُنْتُ أَرَى نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَجِدُ رِيحَهُمَا مِنْ الرَّجُلِ فَيَأْمُرُ بِهِ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِيَدِهِ فَيُخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنْ الْمَسْجِدِ حَتَّى يُؤْتَى بِهِ الْبَقِيعَ فَمَنْ أَكَلَهُمَا لَا بُدَّ فَلْيُمِتْهُمَا طَبْخًا قَالَ فَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَأُصِيبَ يَوْمَ الْأَرْبِعَاءِ
Narrated to us ['Affan] Narrated to us [Hammam Bin Yahya] he said; Narrated to us [Qatadah] from [Salim Bin Abul Ja'd Al Ghatafani] from [Ma'dan Bin Abu Thalhah Al Ya'mari] that [Umar Bin Al Khaththab] stood on the pulpit on Friday, then praised and glorified Allah then mentioned Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam and Abu Bakr, then said; "I had a dream and I thought it was a sign that my death would come, I dreamed as if a rooster pecked me twice." Ma'dan said; he (Umar) said that the chicken was red, then I told Asma' Bint Umais, Abu Bakr's wife, so she said; "A foreign man/other than an Arab will kill you." Umar said; "Indeed, people told me to appoint a successor, and indeed Allah will not waste His religion and caliphate, who has sent His Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam to appoint him, and if death comes to me then this matter will be handed over in Shuraa (deliberation) among six people who when the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam died he was pleased with them, then you should listen to whoever you give allegiance to. and obey, and indeed I know that there will be people who will disrupt this matter, and I am the one who will fight them with my hands on the basis of Islam, they are the enemies of Allah, the disbelievers and the astray, by Allah, I will not abandon what my Lord has promised me and then replace me with something more important to me than Al Kalalah (a person who dies and leaves no father and son), and by Allah, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam has never confirmed anything to me about something since I accompanied him exceeded his firmness towards me in matters of kalalah until he thrust his finger into my chest and said: "Enough for you is the verse about shaif which is at the end of Surah An Nisa', indeed if I live then I will decide the matter with a decision that can be known by those who read and those who do not read, and I testify to Allah over the leaders of the country, that I sent them so that they teach people about their religious affairs and so that they explain the sunnah of their Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam and "complaining to me about things they don't know about, then indeed you, O people, you ate two trees that I didn't consider except that they were disgusting, namely garlic and onions. By Allah, I have seen the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, when he smelled the smell of these two from a man, he told him while holding his hand to leave the mosque and put it in the Baqi', so whoever eats both of them should cook them until there is no smell." Ma'dan said; "Umar preached before people on Friday and was killed on Wednesday.

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ أَنَا وَالزُّبَيْرُ والْمِقْدَادُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ إِلَى أَمْوَالِنَا بِخَيْبَرَ نَتَعَاهَدُهَا فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَاهَا تَفَرَّقْنَا فِي أَمْوَالِنَا قَالَ فَعُدِيَ عَلَيَّ تَحْتَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا نَائِمٌ عَلَى فِرَاشِي فَفُدِعَتْ يَدَايَ مِنْ مِرْفَقِي فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ اسْتُصْرِخَ عَلَيَّ صَاحِبَايَ فَأَتَيَانِي فَسَأَلَانِي عَمَّنْ صَنَعَ هَذَا بِكَ قُلْتُ لَا أَدْرِي قَالَ فَأَصْلَحَا مِنْ يَدَيَّ ثُمَّ قَدِمُوا بِي عَلَى عُمَرَ فَقَالَ هَذَا عَمَلُ يَهُودَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فِي النَّاسِ خَطِيبًا فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ عَامَلَ يَهُودَ خَيْبَرَ عَلَى أَنَّا نُخْرِجُهُمْ إِذَا شِئْنَا وَقَدْ عَدَوْا عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَفَدَعُوا يَدَيْهِ كَمَا بَلَغَكُمْ مَعَ عَدْوَتِهِمْ عَلَى الْأَنْصَارِ قَبْلَهُ لَا نَشُكُّ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُهُمْ لَيْسَ لَنَا هُنَاكَ عَدُوٌّ غَيْرَهُمْ فَمَنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ بِخَيْبَرَ فَلْيَلْحَقْ بِهِ فَإِنِّي مُخْرِجٌ يَهُودَ فَأَخْرَجَهُمْ
Narrated to us [Ya'qub] Narrated to us [my father] from [Ibn Ishaq] he said; Has told me [Nafi' former slave Abdullah Bin Umar] From [Abdullah Bin Umar], he said; I went with Zubair and Miqdad Bin Aswad to see our treasures in Khaibar to check them, when we got there, we split up to our respective lands, in the middle of the night while I was sleeping on my bed I was attacked, my wrist was bent from the elbow, when towards morning my two friends shouted for me, they came to me and asked; "Who has done this to you." I answered; "Don't know." He continued; so Zubair and Miqdad fixed (repositioned) my hand then brought me to Umar, and [Umar] said; "This is what the Jews did." Then he stood up and preached before the people; "O people, indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) employed the Jews of Khaybar, with an agreement that we could expel them if we wished, and they had wronged Abdullah bin Umar by twisting his wrist as has been reported to you, plus their hostility towards the Ansar before, we have no doubt that they are their friends (the Jews), because we have no enemy there except them, so whoever has wealth in Khaybar should take it, for I will expel the Jews." Then Umar expelled them.

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بَيْنَا هُوَ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِمَ تَحْتَبِسُونَ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ مَا هُوَ إِلَّا أَنْ سَمِعْتُ النِّدَاءَ فَتَوَضَّأْتُ فَقَالَ أَيْضًا أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا رَاحَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ
Narrated to us that [Hasan Bin Musa] and [Husain Bin Muhammad] both said; Narrated to us [Syaiban] from [Yahya] from [Abu Salamah] from [Abu Hurairah] that when Umar Bin Al Khaththab was preaching on Friday, suddenly a man came, so Umar asked; "Why are you delaying prayer?" then the man answered; "Nothing but when I hear the call to prayer, I immediately perform ablution." [Umar] asked again; "Haven't you heard that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam once said: "When you go to Friday prayers, take a shower.

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ قَالَ جَاءَنَا كِتَابُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَنَحْنُ بِأَذْرَبِيجَانَ يَا عُتْبَةَ بْنَ فَرْقَدٍ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالتَّنَعُّمَ وَزِيَّ أَهْلِ الشِّرْكِ وَلَبُوسَ الْحَرِيرِ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا عَنْ لَبُوسِ الْحَرِيرِ وَقَالَ إِلَّا هَكَذَا وَرَفَعَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ
Narrated to us [Hasan Bin Musa] he said; Narrated to us [Zuhair] he said; Having related to us ['Ashim Al Ahwal] from [Abu Uthman] he said; there came to us a letter from [Umar], and we were at that time in Azerbaijan, which said; "O Utbah Bin Farqad, do not have fun and wear the jewelry of the polytheists, and wear silk clothes, because the Messenger of Allah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam has forbidden us to wear silk, then he said: "Except like this" and the Messenger of Allah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam raised his two fingers to us.

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ لَبِيبَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ الدُّؤَلِيِّ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَعِنْدَهُ نَفَرٌ مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ الْأَوَّلِينَ فَأَرْسَلَ عُمَرُ إِلَى سَفَطٍ أُتِيَ بِهِ مِنْ قَلْعَةٍ مِنْ الْعِرَاقِ فَكَانَ فِيهِ خَاتَمٌ فَأَخَذَهُ بَعْضُ بَنِيهِ فَأَدْخَلَهُ فِي فِيهِ فَانْتَزَعَهُ عُمَرُ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ بَكَى عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَنْ عِنْدَهُ لِمَ تَبْكِي وَقَدْ فَتَحَ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَأَظْهَرَكَ عَلَى عَدُوِّكَ وَأَقَرَّ عَيْنَكَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا تُفْتَحُ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى أَحَدٍ إِلَّا أَلْقَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَيْنَهُمْ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَأَنَا أُشْفِقُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ
Narrated to us [Hasan] he said; Narrated to us [Ibn Lahi'ah] Narrated to us [Abu Al Aswad] that he heard [Muhammad Bin Abdurrahman Bin Labibah] tell a story from [Abu Sinan Ad Dauli], that he came to see [Umar Bin Al Khaththab], and at his side there were Muhajirin predecessors, then Umar took out a basket brought from a fort in Iraq which contained a ring, then one of his sons took the ring and put it in his mouth, then Umar took it out of his mouth then Umar cried, the people beside him asked; "Why are you crying, has not Allah conquered for you and won you over your enemies and made your outlook peaceful?" Umar answered; "Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: "The world will not be opened to a servant, unless Allah will cause hatred and enmity between them on the Day of Resurrection." and I am afraid of that.

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ أَحَدُنَا إِذَا هُوَ أَجْنَبَ ثُمَّ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ لِيَنَمْ
Narrated to us [Ya'qub] Narrated to us [my father] from [Ibn Ishaq] Has told me [Nafi'] from [Abdullah Bin Umar] from [his father] he said; I asked Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam what should someone do who is junub and then wants to sleep before bathing? Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam answered: "He should perform ablution like ablution for prayer and then sleep.

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ دُعِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْهِ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا وَقَفَ عَلَيْهِ يُرِيدُ الصَّلَاةَ تَحَوَّلْتُ حَتَّى قُمْتُ فِي صَدْرِهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَعَلَى عَدُوِّ اللَّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ الْقَائِلِ يَوْمَ كَذَا كَذَا وَكَذَا يُعَدِّدُ أَيَّامَهُ قَالَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَبَسَّمُ حَتَّى إِذَا أَكْثَرْتُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ أَخِّرْ عَنِّي يَا عُمَرُ إِنِّي خُيِّرْتُ فَاخْتَرْتُ وَقَدْ قِيلَ { اسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ أَوْ لَا تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ إِنْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً فَلَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ } لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنِّي إِنْ زِدْتُ عَلَى السَّبْعِينَ غُفِرَ لَهُ لَزِدْتُ قَالَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَمَشَى مَعَهُ فَقَامَ عَلَى قَبْرِهِ حَتَّى فُرِغَ مِنْهُ قَالَ فَعَجَبٌ لِي وَجَرَاءَتِي عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا كَانَ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ هَاتَانِ الْآيَتَانِ { وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ مَاتَ أَبَدًا وَلَا تَقُمْ عَلَى قَبْرِهِ إِنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ } فَمَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَهُ عَلَى مُنَافِقٍ وَلَا قَامَ عَلَى قَبْرِهِ حَتَّى قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ
Narrated to us [Ya'qub] Narrated to us [my father] from [Ibn Ishaq] Has told me [Az Zuhri] from [Ubaidullah Bin Abdullah Bin 'Utbah Bin Mas'ud] from [Abdullah bin Abbas], he said; I heard [Umar Bin Khattab] say; when Abdullah Bin Ubai died, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam was called to pray for him, so he rushed to him, when he stood in front of him to pray for him I stopped him so I stood in front of him and said; "O Rasulullah, Abdullah Bin Ubai is the enemy of Allah who said on this and this day," he said the name of the day, then Umar continued; However, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam just smiled until when I repeated my words he said: "Get away from me, O Umar, in fact I was given a choice so I chose, and it has been stated: "Whether you ask for forgiveness for them or you don't ask for forgiveness for them (is the same). Even though you ask for forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will never forgive them.'" (QS Al Anfal verse 80) If I had known that if I increased my request to seventy times he would receive forgiveness, I would have added" Umar said; then he prayed for him and delivered his body and stood over his grave until he had finished burying him," Umar said; "I was surprised at myself for my impudence towards the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, even though Allah and His Messenger knew better" Umar said again; "then by Allah, not long after these two verses came down (QS At Taubah verse 80, 84). "And never worship (the body of) a dead person among them, and do not stand (pray) at their graves. Indeed, they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger and they died in a state of wickedness." Then Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam after that never again offered prayers to the munafiq nor did he stand over their graves.

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ كَمَا حَدَّثَنِي عَنْهُ نَافِعٌ مَوْلَاهُ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لِلرَّجُلِ إِلَّا ثَوْبٌ وَاحِدٌ فَلْيَأْتَزِرْ بِهِ ثُمَّ لِيُصَلِّ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ وَيَقُولُ لَا تَلْتَحِفُوا بِالثَّوْبِ إِذَا كَانَ وَحْدَهُ كَمَا تَفْعَلُ الْيَهُودُ قَالَ نَافِعٌ وَلَوْ قُلْتُ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُ أَسْنَدَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَرَجَوْتُ أَنْ لَا أَكُونَ كَذَبْتُ
Narrated to us [Ya'qub] Narrated to us [my father] from [Ibn Ishaq] he said; Having told me [Nafi' Abdullah's former slave] from [Abdullah], Nafi' said; Abdullah Bin Umar said; If a man has no clothes except one, then he should wear the clothes like a sarong and then perform the prayer, because indeed I once heard [Umar Bin Al Khaththab] say that, and he said; "Do not cover yourself with clothes if you only have one garment, as the Jews do." Nafi' said; "If I told you that Abdullah Bin Umar had relied on Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, then I hope that I was not lying.

حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ مِخْرَاقٍ عَنْ شَهْرٍ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ مَاتَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ قِيلَ لَهُ ادْخُلْ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أَيِّ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ الثَّمَانِيَةِ شِئْتَ
Narrated to us [Mu`ammal] Narrated to us [Hammad] he said; Narrated to us [Ziyad Bin Mikhraq] from [Shahr] from [Uqbah Bin 'Amir] he said; He told me [Umar] that he had heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: "Whoever dies while believing in Allah and the Last Day, it will be said to him; 'Enter Paradise from any of the eight doors that you like.'

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرٌ يَعْنِي الْأَحْمَرَ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ حَذَفَ رَجُلٌ ابْنًا لَهُ بِسَيْفٍ فَقَتَلَهُ فَرُفِعَ إِلَى عُمَرَ فَقَالَ لَوْلَا أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يُقَادُ الْوَالِدُ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ لَقَتَلْتُكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَبْرَحَ
Narrated to us [Aswad Bin 'Amir] he said; has reported to us [Ja'far i.e. Al Ahmar] from [Mutharrif] from [Al Hakam] from [Mujahid] he said; a man slashed his son with a sword, killing him, then this matter was brought up to Umar, so [Umar] said; If I had not heard the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam once said: "A father is not punished for killing his child. "I will surely kill you before you spend the night.

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَعْمَشِ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَنْ عَابِسِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ نَظَرَ إِلَى الْحَجَرِ فَقَالَ أَمَا وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُكَ مَا قَبَّلْتُكَ ثُمَّ قَبَّلَهُ
[Aswad Bin 'Amir] Narrated to us that he said; [Zuhair] Narrated to us from [Sulaiman Al A'mash] Narrated to us from [Abis Bin Rabi'ah] that he; I saw [Umar] looking at the Black Stone and saying; "By Allah, if I had not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you." Then he kissed it.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا السَّائِبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ابْنُ أُخْتِ نَمِرٍ أَنَّ حُوَيْطِبَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ السَّعْدِىِّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ عَلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي خِلَافَتِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ أَلَمْ أُحَدَّثْ أَنَّكَ تَلِي مِنْ أَعْمَالِ النَّاسِ أَعْمَالًا فَإِذَا أُعْطِيتَ الْعُمَالَةَ كَرِهْتَهَا قَالَ فَقُلْتُ بَلَى فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَمَا تُرِيدُ إِلَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ قُلْتُ إِنَّ لِي أَفْرَاسًا وَأَعْبُدًا وَأَنَا بِخَيْرٍ وَأُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ عُمَالَتِي صَدَقَةً عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَلَا تَفْعَلْ فَإِنِّي قَدْ كُنْتُ أَرَدْتُ الَّذِي أَرَدْتَ فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْطِينِي الْعَطَاءَ فَأَقُولُ أَعْطِهِ أَفْقَرَ إِلَيْهِ مِنِّي حَتَّى أَعْطَانِي مَرَّةً مَالًا فَقُلْتُ أَعْطِهِ أَفْقَرَ إِلَيْهِ مِنِّي قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُذْهُ فَتَمَوَّلْهُ وَتَصَدَّقْ بِهِ فَمَا جَاءَكَ مِنْ هَذَا الْمَالِ وَأَنْتَ غَيْرُ مُشْرِفٍ وَلَا سَائِلٍ فَخُذْهُ وَمَا لَا فَلَا تُتْبِعْهُ نَفْسَكَ
Narrated to us [Abul Yaman] he said; has reported to us [Syu'aib] from [Az Zuhri] he said; has informed us [As Sa`ib Bin Yazid] Namir's sister's son, that [Huwaithib Bin Abdul 'Uzza] has informed him, that [Abdullah Bin Sa'di] has informed him, that he came to Umar Bin Al Khaththab at the time of his caliphate, so Umar said to him; "I haven't been told (about one thing), that you are in charge of taking care of people's work, then when you are given a salary you don't dislike it?" Abdullah Bin Sa'di said; so I answered; "That's right" Umar said; "What do you want from it?" He answered; so I answered; "In fact, I have several horses and slaves, and I am well off, I want my wages to be given to the Muslims." [Umar] said; "Don't do that, because in fact I also wanted as you wished, but the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam gave me a gift and I said, 'Give it to someone who is poorer than me,' until one day he gave me wealth and I said, 'Give it to someone who is poorer than me', then the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam rebuked me and said: "Take it and develop (infest) it then invest in him. Whatever comes to you from this wealth and you did not expect it and did not ask for it, then take it, and if it is not like that, then do not claim it as yours.

حَدَّثَنَا سَكَنُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ دَرَّاجٍ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ سَبَّحَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي طَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ فَرَآهُ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَتَغَيَّظَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَمَا وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهَا
Narrated to us [Sakan Bin Nafi' Al Bahili] he said; Narrated to us [Salih] from [Az Zuhri] he said; Has told me [Rabi'ah Bin Darraj] that [Ali Bin Abu Talib] performed two rak'ahs of Sunnah prayer after Asr on the way to Mecca, then Umar saw this and he was angry with him, then said; "By Allah, didn't you already know that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam had forbidden it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ مِنْ بَنِي سَهْمٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَاجِدَةُ قَالَ عَارَمْتُ غُلَامًا بِمَكَّةَ فَعَضَّ أُذُنِي فَقَطَعَ مِنْهَا أَوْ عَضِضْتُ أُذُنَهُ فَقَطَعْتُ مِنْهَا فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ حَاجًّا رُفِعْنَا إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ انْطَلِقُوا بِهِمَا إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ الْجَارِحُ بَلَغَ أَنْ يُقْتَصَّ مِنْهُ فَلْيَقْتَصَّ قَالَ فَلَمَّا انْتُهِيَ بِنَا إِلَى عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ نَظَرَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ نَعَمْ قَدْ بَلَغَ هَذَا أَنْ يُقْتَصَّ مِنْهُ ادْعُوا لِي حَجَّامًا فَلَمَّا ذَكَرَ الْحَجَّامَ قَالَ أَمَا إِنِّي قَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ قَدْ أَعْطَيْتُ خَالَتِي غُلَامًا وَأَنَا أَرْجُو أَنْ يُبَارِكَ اللَّهُ لَهَا فِيهِ وَقَدْ نَهَيْتُهَا أَنْ تَجْعَلَهُ حَجَّامًا أَوْ قَصَّابًا أَوْ صَائِغًا حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي سَهْمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَاجِدَةَ السَّهْمِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ حَجَّ عَلَيْنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي خِلَافَتِهِ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
Narrated to us [Muhammad Bin Yazid] Narrated to us [Muhammad Bin Ishaq] he said; Narrated to us [Al 'Ala` Bin Abdurrahman Bin Ya'qub] from [a Quraish man from Bani Sahm] from a [man among them called Majidah] he said; I quarreled with a boy in Mecca, then he bit and cut off my ear -or- I bit and cut off my ear, so when Abu Bakr came to us to perform Hajj, we put the matter to him, so he answered; "Bring both of them to Umar Bin Al Khaththab, if the person who injured it is up to qishash to be carried out, then let him qishash him." He says; so when we arrived before [Umar Bin Al Khaththab], he looked at us and said; "Yes, I've reached the limit for doing qishash, call me a cupping man." So when he mentioned the cupper he said; "As for me, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: "I have given a servant to my maternal aunt in the hope that Allah will bless her with it, and I have forbidden her not to make her a cupper, an animal butcher or a goldsmith." Narrated to us [Ya'qub] Narrated to us [my father] from [Ibn Ishaq] he said; and Narrated to us [Al 'Ala` Bin Abdurrahman] from [a man from Bani Sahm] from [Ibnu Majidah As Sahmi] that he said; "Abu Bakr went on pilgrimage to us during his caliphate," then he mentioned the hadith.
Hadith
Imam Ahmad : 99
حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ خَطَبَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ النَّاسَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ رَخَّصَ لِنَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا شَاءَ وَإِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ مَضَى لِسَبِيلِهِ فَأَتِمُّوا الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ كَمَا أَمَرَكُمْ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَحَصِّنُوا فُرُوجَ هَذِهِ النِّسَاءِ
Narrated to us ['Ubaidah Bin Humaid] from [Daud Bin Abu Hind] from [Abu Nadlrah] from [Abu Sa'id] he said; [Umar] preached before people and said; "Indeed, Allah has given relief to His Prophet for what he desired, and indeed the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam has gone his way, so complete the Hajj and Umrah as commanded by Allah, and guard the genitals of these women.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيَرْقُدُ الرَّجُلُ إِذَا أَجْنَبَ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ
Narrated to us ['Ubaidah Bin Humaid] Has told me [Ubaidullah Bin Umar] from [Nafi'] from [Ibn Umar] from [Umar Bin Al Khaththab], he said; "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked: Is it permissible for a person to sleep when he is junub? He answered: "Yes, if he has performed ablution.
