حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ الْفَزَارِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا كَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ قَالَ كُنْتُ إِذَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا نَفَعَنِي اللَّهُ بِهِ بِمَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنِي مِنْهُ وَإِذَا حَدَّثَنِي غَيْرُهُ اسْتَحْلَفْتُهُ فَإِذَا حَلَفَ لِي صَدَّقْتُهُ وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَصَدَقَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ مُؤْمِنٍ يُذْنِبُ ذَنْبًا فَيَتَوَضَّأُ فَيُحْسِنُ الطُّهُورَ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَيَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ثُمَّ تَلَا { وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ }

Narrated to us [Abu Kamil] Narrated to us [Abu 'Awanah] Narrated to us [Uthman Bin Abu Zur'ah] from [Ali Bin Rabi'ah] from [Asma' Bin Al Hakam Al Fazari] he said; I heard [Ali] say; If I hear a hadith from the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, then Allah gives me benefits from it according to what He wills. And if someone else tells it to me, then I ask him to swear, if he has sworn to me then I confirm it. Verily [Abu Bakr] has told me and it is true that Abu Bakr said that he had heard the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam say: "It is not a man who commits a sin and then performs ablution and makes his ablution fine, then he performs two rak'ahs of prayer and asks Allah Ta'ala for forgiveness, unless Allah will certainly forgive his sin." Then he read "and those who commit vile deeds or wrong themselves.
