حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَثَلِي وَمَثَلُ النَّبِيِّينَ مِنْ قَبْلِي كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ بَنَى دَارًا فَأَتَمَّهَا إِلَّا لَبِنَةً وَاحِدَةً فَجِئْتُ أَنَا فَأَتْمَمْتُ تِلْكَ اللَّبِنَةَ

Narrated to us [Abu Mu'awiyah] said: Narrated to us [Al A'masy] from [Abu Shalih] from [Abu Sa'id Al Khudri] said: The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him said: "My example with all the Prophets before me is like a man who builds a house, then he perfects all but one brick, then I come and perfect the stone.
